Baseball Hall Of Fame Controversy

Baseball Hall Of Fame Controversy

The Baseball Hall of Fame has been the talk of the sports world because of the way it handles the Hall of Fame voting. I  don’t like the way that it does it because it doesn’t  matter what you do on the field, it matters who they like or believe. With the development of PED’s(Performance Enhancing Drugs) numbers don’t matter. If your name is brought up in the conversation of PED’s you are guilty. Even when the government took Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens to court and they were found not guilty, they are still guilty. What about Pete Rose? How could this be the Hall of Fame without Charlie Hustle? Because they said so! Has anyone ever thought that the people who are supposedly coming  clean and telling on everyone might be lying?  It is know longer the Baseball Hall of Fame but the Hall that the Baseball Writers of America has built.

I agree with Dan Le Batard a  newspaper sportswriter, radio host, and television reporter out of Miami, when he says “I  feel like my vote has gotten pretty worthless in the avalanche of sanctimony that has swallowed it.” I totally agree! But I completely disagree with the way he handled the situation. He made a mockery of the Hall of Fame by giving his vote to Deadspin and letting their readers make his vote. He seems to forget that this is a privilege. He never played in the Majors so be thankful that he was able to get a vote. Now he can never vote again. This is fair. If you do not like the process then try to make changes to it, because now you can never vote again. We as sports fans are just that, Sports Fans. We cheer for our favorite teams and players but we don’t make the rules. Their are ways to change everything, but the Hall of Fame has been around before us and will continue to exist without us. If we don’t like it find a way to fix it! Or be quiet and let it play out.
