I have missed feeling on this Richard Sherman story. I really like the fact that he found a way to get out of the inner city of Compton California. This is one of the toughest areas in the world. Crime and violence has been what Compton is known for. But he found a way to not only survive but to have success in sports. He was a top notch High School athlete. He graduated Salutatorian(ranked second) in his High School class. I get it! Not only did he get a scholarship to attend Stanford University where he played wide receiver and defensive back, he also graduated. He had a chip on his shoulder when he was drafted the 154th pick in the NFL draft. You finally get the the National Football League and you are one of the best in the game, HANDS DOWN! For whatever reason he doesn’t feel like he get’s the respect he deserves. Finally get to the NFC Conference Championship and makes a big play to help your team get the “W” and go to Super Bowl XLVIII. I totally understand his ” ME AGAINST THE WORLD” attitude. But you are still a professional, hold yourself to better standards.
After deflecting a pass to his teammate for the interception and the win, Richard Sherman tried to shake Micheal Crabtree’s hand and Crabtree mugged his face. Richard Sherman was then interviewed by ESPN’s Erin Andrews. He went off! Called Crabtree mediocre and soft. Said that he was the best cornerback in the game. Talked all about him and what he was and how good he is. Totally left the team out. ALL ABOUT HIM! That’s what I didn’t like. He left his team out. In the world of sports you can’t do it alone. That’s what I was most unhappy about. That was a great platform to show kids all over the world how far you came from and made it, and if you can do it they can too. But he chose to make that moment about Sherman vs Crabtree. If anybody knows how hard it is to make it, surely he does. Just remember that the next time Richard Sherman and let your game do all the talking! I enjoy really watching you. You are one of the BEST!!
